Hot Cup Of Cha

March teacup

The English word tea traces its roots to the name for tea in the Chinese Amoy dialect:  Te (pronounced tay).  Cha is the Mandarin Chinese word for tea.  Some countries use both.  It’s not unusual to hear someone in England request a “hot cup of cha”.

What a very pretty March cup and saucer. I love it. Do you have a March birthday?

Sadly, the pretty March teacup does not belong to me. My birthday is next month and I do own a pretty April teacup. I was born on Easter Sunday morning, but I can't ever remember it falling on Easter Sunday since then.

I love this teacup! Wouldn't it be great to have a set of all 12 months? Then, you could have any friend over for tea and have the perfect cup just for her b'day!
