Today I’m showing a lovely teacup that I received as a Christmas gift from my friend Ruth. It is Royal Albert bone china in the Highland Thistle pattern that was introduced in 1969.
This beautiful footed cup is in the Montrose shape. It was made in England.
The thistles have such gorgeous color and detail.
Be sure to visit Terri and Martha, the lovely hostesses of Teacup Tuesday. Also visit Wanda Lee and Pam for Teapot and Tea Things Tuesday.

Oh just so pretty. Yesterday when I was in London I visited Fortnums and saw the most beautiful tea sets, worth a visit just to look at all the gorgeous decorations xx
Love the Highland Thistle ... perfect colors for the season. Happy tea day!
I think Royal Albert's wares will always be among my favorites -- and this cup and saucer is a great example why. These photos are just terrific!
Oh this is a gorgeous cup! I love thistles and this cup has the most beautifully painted ones on it.
Thank you so much for showing it to us.
Hugs,

In spite of the fact that thistles are a nuisance around here, they are also beautiful, hardy, and feed the wild birds. In abundance too! This is a very lovely teacup and saucer. I like the very cozy background of your home too.It would be so pleasant to share a cup of tea with you in person.
Beautiful!
I just love the colors!!

I love it. It is very unique. I don't think I have seen one with thistles. Very pretty.
Lovely! My sister-in-law would love that pattern...she's a fan of all things Scottish.
Hi: I just love how beautiful this cup is. I have never seen it. Have a wonderful Christmas Season. Blessings, Martha
I have a partial set of the Highland Thistle and started to collect in 1975, and I only have 53 pieces. I dont think it is available any more... sigh..
