Teacup Tuesday – Portmeirion, Brunelli & Melitta

Today I’m showing a Portmeirion teacup, along with a Melitta pot and a pierced Brunelli plate from Italy.

This is a pretty botanical pattern called Pomona and this cup has a Wild Blackberry design.  The saucer has an attractive border of leaves.

I found this lovely plate at Marshalls today and couldn’t resist the gooseberry pattern (at least that’s what I think they are) and cutouts, not to mention the bargain price.

PA182174When I was a girl, my Mom picked gooseberries from the bushes in our neighbors yard and used them to make jam.   I haven’t seen any for many years now.

PA182175This plate was made in Italy and I thought that $2 was a bargain.

A friend found this white Melitta pot at an estate sale and thought that I might like it. PA182185

Recently I discovered that you can buy a large bag of dried cherries at BJ’s for $7.99.  They are perfect for making cherry scones.

PA182180   PA182191 A little lemon curd goes very well with these scones.  I’m having Darjeeling tea with them.

I love Portmeirion. I have some of their herb pattern, but no cups/saucers. The plate was quite a find -- lovely! My mouth is watering. I want one of those cherry scones! Happy Tea Day!

Love the pierced plate! I've seen many older ones (turn of the century, I think), but never any new. Good to know that an old design favorite is coming back!

OK, now I am hungry for a yummy scone on a beautiful plate. Love the teacup, plate, and teapot. Just my style. I am always searching for cups with fruit, my favorite.

So pleased that you stopped in for tea and to share your post. How inviting your setting is today.
The scones look delish...dried cherries would be a nice change from cranberries. Thank you for the tip.
Blessings, Pam

Mmm, it's lunchtime and I'm hungry so this post did NOT help! Ha! But the teawares are lovely, and I can't believe what a bargain you got at Marshalls! My goodness, that was a yard sale price! And what a nice friend to know you would enjoy that Melitta teapot.
