This isn't my usual teatime experience, but it was quite enjoyable just the same. Instead of my favorite hot black tea, I'm drinking bubble tea. You can see the large tapioca pearls in the bottom of the cup. It is great fun to coax them up the extra large straws that have slant cut bottoms designed for this purpose. I've heard that bubble tea or boba originated in Taiwan in the early 1980's. It comes in many delicious fruit flavours and can be made with black or green tea.

There are no dainty sandwiches or scones with lemon curd, but there is a hearty and delicious noodle bowl. Mine came with a large piece of chicken, but it is also available with beef. It is served with bean sprouts, lemongrass, fresh basil and chilies. I had this great combination of food and drink at "Pho Mimi" Vietnamese Noodle House in Duluth, GA.

Hello, there! I wanted to say "thank you" for visiting my blog! I have had bubble tea - isn't it an interesting beverage? The one I had was a little sweet for my preference, but I did enjoy it. There is such a following of bubble tea in certain demographics! I find it fascinating to watch its spread across the US. Here in sheltered Midwest, we now have bubble tea!

I have yet to try this type of tea. Yesterday my family and I were at a Thai restaurant and they had thai tea on the menu and it looked quite interesting as well.

Hello~ I'm new to your charming blog.
I've not been brave enough to try bubble tea. Even though there's a tea shop 3 mins from my house. I do love the traditional teas and cafes with the bitty sandwiches. We only have one thats by appointment only. I prefer to walk in when the mood for a cup hits me.

Sweet Wishes,
Sara
