Hacienda Tres Rios
Just returned from another trip to Hacienda Tres Rios Resort, Spa & Nature Park. This trip hubby and I travelled without our grandson, so we had a Jr. Mangrove Suite on the third floor. The above pic is the fantastic view from our balcony.
We’d walk across this bridge several times a day on our way to the pools and beach.
Early morning was a lovely time to walk and take pictures until the buffet opened at 7 am for breakfast. You can see the Sunset Grill on the right – a spot we enjoyed several times. We also liked the poolside restaurant that served brick oven pizza and calzone.
It was so relaxing to lie on a beach bed beside the water and read a book. It was cooler there with a nice breeze and quite entertaining watching the people brave enough to parasail.
When I vacation, the food is an extremely important element of the trip and there was certainly a lot to enjoy at H2R. They have authentic Mexican, Italian and Oriental restaurants, plus the buffet and poolside choices. As I mentioned last year, the resort even has a little patisserie. I couldn’t resist popping in there for a quick cappuccino and macaroon or pastry. See that big bowl of macaroons – they had them every day in many different flavors. Funny, I don’t often drink coffee, but I did like the cappuccino. The few times I had a cup of hot tea, it was from a Lipton tea bag.
On this shorter trip, we were content to spend our days at the pools or beach. We didn’t take advantage of the kayaking and snorkeling in the cenotes, or the bicycle tour like we did the first trip. I do wish that we had taken the nursery tour, but we kept busy with some of their classes. I especially enjoyed the sushi making class and want to try this at home when my daughter has delivered her baby and is once again able to eat sushi.
Hacienda Tres Rios is a terrific choice if you are looking for an all inclusive resort in Mexico. I think being on a nature preserve on over 300 acres makes it rather unique. My pictures of beautiful and unusual flora alone would fill an album, not to mention the coati and birds.

A Nice Cup Of Tea
I like a nice cup of tea in the morning
Just to start the day you see
And at half-past eleven
Well, my idea of Heaven
Is a nice cup of tea
I like a nice cup of tea with my dinner
And a nice cup of tea with my tea
And when it's time for bed
There’s a lot to be said
For a nice cup of tea.

Tea Quote
What part of confidante has that poor teapot played ever since that kindly plant was introduced among us.
Why myriads of women have cried over it for sure!
Nature meant very kindly
when she made the tea plant;
and with a little thought, what a series of pictures and groups the fancy may conjure up and assemble
’round the teapot and cup.

Teapot Cross-stitch
My hubby’s latest cross-stitch piece will be perfect to hang in the dining room this fall.
He’ll soon be starting another transfer ware teapot pattern from Just CrossStitch magazine. He can thank my friend Angela at Tea With Friends for alerting me to this great teapot pattern. Now if only I could learn how to frame all these treasures.
