Red Hat boxed lunch

The Atlanta Scarlett Hatters meeting this month was a boxed lunch exchange.  The Queen Mum, Ruth, decided to change the venue (due to her illness) to her lovely home, instead of the park.

I don’t do flamboyant very well and prefer the t-shirt and jeans approach.  Yes, I admit to owning a red feather boa that rarely sees the light of day.

Since everyone in our group knows that I’m “the tea lady”, my lunch was packed in a black wire cup and saucer that could later be used to hold a potted plant (or perhaps tea supplies).

The best part was the large group of ladies who showed up to give Ruth their love and support.  It was a very emotional meeting, but at the same time, very uplifting.

  1. Please give my best to Ruth and let her know that she is on my mind. Is there anything that I can send to her that would make her happy? I know she has a difficult road ahead and I would love to do something to help.

  2. It sounds like you have a wonderful Red Hat group! So sorry to hear about your friend, Ruth, but glad to know that so many of her friends are helping to support her through this. The tea shirt is really cute. Your little teacup "lunch box" was a really cute idea!

  3. I've heard of the Scarlet Hatters... it sounds like such a great initiative. We need a little more of that old-fashioned celebratory spirit sometimes :)

My best wishes for your friend Ruth. May she have a speedy recovery, or at least, be granted the strength to fight or accept what still awaits her.

    Blessings,
    This Good Life

  4. May God's constant peace and comfort be with your friend Ruth through this difficult trial! Maybe some of us tea crafters can make some handmade cards to bless Ruth with. You can e-mail me at theteaenthusiastsscrapbook@comcast.net.

I love the saying on the t-shirt! It's so true!

  7. I think if I was a Red Hat lady I would also be in jeans. Love the way your lunch was packaged.
