The teapot and matching teacup are from my dinnerware service and are Wedgwood Queen’s Ware in the Edme pattern. The other cup and saucer is made by Wood & Sons in their Toile de Jouy pattern.
The Queen’s Ware or cream ware is such a lovely neutral and mixes well with lots of china patterns.
I really like the texture and the pedestal base of this pattern.
The Wedgwood site has a lot of information on Queen’s Ware which got its name from Queen Charlotte wife of George III.
I’ve always loved toile fabric, so this cup by Wood & Sons is another favorite.
This pattern was also made in pink and blue.
There are lots of wonderful teacup and teapot posts to see today. Check out Artful Affirmations, Martha's Favorites, Silken Purse and Sandi.
The white teapot is a feast for eyes in quiet simple elegance!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love black and white. Everything is so elegant!
ReplyDeleteThe Wedgwood is so elegant and graceful. The black adn white cup is really nice, also. I like them both - to have a set of that Wedgwood - ahhhh.

Oh I love the Toile de Jouy pattern. I don't think I have ever seen a china with that pattern, it's very special.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen's Ware is always elegant and can be used for any occasion can't it? Just lovely....
Have a wonderful week.

How very lovely are all your tea things!! Several years ago I happened upon the Edme pattern in Goodwill---there on the shelf sat a perfect little setting for a breakfast tray: Cup, saucer, luncheon-sized plate, and egg cup.
ReplyDeleteI got it just for the elegance of it, and the lovely feel of the finish.
I sent it last year as a little gift to my blog-friend Maggie, who had written more exquisitely of the Perfect Egg, in all its glory, than any writer I'd ever read.
I can imagine your table set with all that Wedgwood---so very lovely in candlelight.
Just came by here from Marthas, I don't believe I have ever seen the black and white toile, it is quite lovely. I know what you mean about the white going with anything, I use beige and it mixes well.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at your husbands talent
The Wedgwood looks so elegant, and since I'm also a lover of toile fabrice, I really like the toile cup and saucer. Enjoyed visiting here. laurie
ReplyDeleteDon't you find the white tea pots and accessories are kind to the eye and are also the best choices for helping the more beautiful and flashy tea cups and place settings "show their stuff"?
ReplyDeleteI am a lover of toile and until this post did not know of this pattern, it is wonderful! Thank-you for inviting me to Teacup Tuesday!
Beautiful tea set! I especially love the toile set....Christine
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. I like white sets very much, but there is something so charming about the ring of dancing children and shepherd. Lovely pieces. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI love Toile, too! And these cups and saucers are just outstanding! I can see them sitting upon black placemats with toile napkins.
ReplyDeleteAnd the teapot is like frosting on the cake! Simple lines that do along so well with your teacups.
Have a great week and thanks for coming by to see me, too!
Hugs,
Jan
What elegant teawares you're sharing today! Love the Edme pattern ... it's always so regal looking, so it's no wonder it's called "queens" ware. And that toile teacup from Wood and Sons has such a fun toile print! Very unique!
ReplyDeleteLove just plain white quite often as they are so fun to mix with other things. The toile pattern is lovely too.
ReplyDeleteHi: The tea pot is beautiful. Wedgewood is one of my favorites. Love the black and white. Very special thank you so much for sharing your treasures. Blessings, Martha
ReplyDeleteYour Toile de jouy tea cup is lovely!

ReplyDeleteThe cream colored tea pot and cup and saucer are very charming and elegant. I love the toile patterned one, too. I have never seen one like it, so pretty! Thank you for coming by for a visit and for your kind comments. Sending love and hugs to you~ Vicki
Oh, I really love that white teapot, it's got such a pretty shape! I have several white teapots, as much as I like all kinds of color, the white ones are always the first thing that catch my eye.
