Cold Brewed Tea

Here is another green tea that I’ve tried.  Twinings innovative cold brewed Green Tea With Mint.  Twinings has been selling tea since 1706 and does business in more than 100 countries.

P1291213

This tea brews in cold water in 3-5 minutes.  What a time saver when you want just one glass of iced tea.

P1291214  My first glass was steeped for 3 minutes with filtered water  straight from the fridge.  I enjoyed the fragrance of the mint and the refreshing taste, although the green tea flavor did not stand out.  I tried steeping for 5 minutes and found that it had a little more flavor.

P1291215   The ingredients list includes green tea, as well as tea extracts, so perhaps this will boost the health benefits.  I plan to go back to my local Publix and purchase the rest of this tea, which is on clearance for half price.  It will be great to have on hand this spring when the temperature is rising.

Check out the other varieties of Twinings cold brewed tea here.

  1. I have some cold brewed tea from maybe Lipton's for ice tea and I really like it. It's not exotic or anything, but it is fast and pleasant. I think it makes a qt. at a time

  4. My hubby loves the cold brew decaf tea by Lipton's, but that was the only cold brew I ever heard of before now. This sounds wonderful, especially for a warm summer day. I'll keep my eye open for this one. Thank you for sharing!

  6. Hi There, I also had only ever seen cold brew tea by Lipton, unfortunatly, I didn't think too much of it, it seemed weak. Maybe I didn't brew it right...

Thanks for your lovely comments about my sampler pillow. Yes! I did make the ME pillows, I love Mary Engelbreit! I did not what looks like a quilt on the back though. It's acutally a quilted pillow case which I just lay over the back of the bench for comfort. I am getting the itch to make a quilt though, so we'll see!

    Have a great day!

  7. Very interesting! I'm curious about the processing that makes this steep so quickly in cold water!

  8. That seems like such a short time to cold brew, but it must be good for you to go buy the rest. Now I am curious to watch for it.

  14. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Paris is a wonderful city alright, but one thing I don't like is the tea in France, they don't use very much milk and always seem to only have flavoured tea and alot of lemon tea. Oh lovely tea :)I think I am addicted to tea, but I only like hot tea with plenty of milk. And although I love my cups and saucers they are too small for the amount of tea I drink so I have to use a large mug. In Ireland we have tea so often. At the weekends when I am at home I would have tea in the morning, at 11, after dinner, at 3, at evening tea time, at 8, at 10:30- and then in between too. See what I mean :) It can't be good for me! Oh I'm ranting on here about tea :)

    All things nice...

  15. Hmmm, maybe I would like this one with mint. I just can't learn to love green tea, but I love mint!
Thanks for telling us about this one.
