This isn't my usual teatime experience, but it was quite enjoyable just the same. Instead of my favorite hot black tea, I'm drinking bubble tea. You can see the large tapioca pearls in the bottom of the cup. It is great fun to coax them up the extra large straws that have slant cut bottoms designed for this purpose. I've heard that bubble tea or boba originated in Taiwan in the early 1980's. It comes in many delicious fruit flavours and can be made with black or green tea.

There are no dainty sandwiches or scones with lemon curd, but there is a hearty and delicious noodle bowl. Mine came with a large piece of chicken, but it is also available with beef. It is served with bean sprouts, lemongrass, fresh basil and chilies. I had this great combination of food and drink at "Pho Mimi" Vietnamese Noodle House in Duluth, GA.
